ABOUT R-CHI ICED TEA
Launched at the end of 2020 Cornish R-chi produce a range of slightly sparkling ready made Iced Teas. Combining the wonderful teas and infusions from British tea grower and producer Tregothnan with other locally sourced British produce, they have developed seemingly simple recipes that through cold-brew slow-brew production deliver delightfully refreshing, moorish and delicate flavours. Their range includes an Iced Earl Grey Tea with Blackcurrant and a British Manuka Iced Tea with Ginger, Turmeric and Lemon.
BUY R-CHI ICED TEA
The delicate and refreshing flavours of R-Chi’s Iced Teas are not only the result of hundreds of hours of careful recipe development and refinement, nor of the wonderful ingredients they have researched and sourced, but also down to their carefully managed, small-batch, cold-brew, slow-brew production technique.
Every batch starts with the cold brew of the tea (Earl Grey or Manuka depending on the flavour) which takes up to 15 hours. This cold brew method ensures that none of the delicate flavours of the teas or infusions are lost or ‘burnt’ away, but are instead allowed the time to be slowly absorbed into the water. Once the brew stage is complete the other ingredients are carefully added, and finally a hint of lemon juice added to stabilise the acidity. After one final taste test the teas are then canned ready for sale.
R-CHI ICED TEA PEOPLE
R-Chi Tea is a small, nimble producer with humble ambitions that has great British grown tea and ingredients at its heart. The small team that founder Archie has built around him working on the business are all focussed on their collective single-minded ambition of producing simple, wonderfully tasting British Iced Teas.
R-CHI TEA FOUNDER
Archie was born just before the first formal tea plantations were planted at Tregothnan, meaning that he’s been in and around tea and the tea business for pretty much all of his life, including travels with his father to overseas plantations as he grew up. However it was not until the end of 2019, and after a very hot weekend while working for the family tea business at Badminton, that the idea for R-Chi Iced Tea took hold. Acting on impulse and with little more than entrepreneurial instinct, drive and ambition he ditched his Business Management degree course and went ‘all-in’ on developing R-Chi’s core recipes, learning about production techniques and hunting down other great ingredient growers and producers. At at the end of 2020 his first drinks were for sale and R-Chi was born. When not deep in research or product development he’s most likely found playing cricket, or in the nets of his local club.
