ORIGINAL BEANS CHOCOLATE WITH CACAO FROM PIURA VALLEY PERU

PIURA VALLEY CACAO

Due to its lively fruit flavours, Piura Valley Cacaco has become one of the best-awarded beans worldwide. Piura Blanco is believed to be an albino of a native cacao, with pronounced flavours. of raspberry, dried prunes and pecan divulge the secrets of this ultra rare white cacao—nature’s delicious mistake, found only along Peru’s coastal desert.

THE PIURA VALLEY

Born from the dry, desert valleys in Piura, Northern Peru, the ultra-rare Piura Porcelana white cacao was nearly extinct before it was rediscovered in 2007. The region had suffered from years of deforestation which in turn worsened drought. With the support from Original Beans and due to its lively fruit flavours, Piura cacao has become one of the highest awarded beans worldwide

SUPPORTING LOCAL FARMERS & ECOLOGY

In partnership with Norandino, a regional farming cooperative, in 2016 alone, more than 100.000 trees were planted, whilst protecting 2,800 hectares of dry forest, home to the endangered puma and a huge diversity of birds and butterflies. Original Beans also support the amazing conservation work of a youth organization in Puerta Pulache that has raised more than 10,000 native forest trees.
