DESCRIPTION

Bermondsey Street Bees commissioned a leading metalwork artist to create a sculptural piece – purpose-designed to hold a complete honeycomb in its frame, straight from the hive. Each stand is individually handmade in his Suffolk workshops. Built entirely from 18/10 food grade stainless steel, it incorporates a removable drip tray, making it extremely easy to clean. The comb stand makes a dramatic centrepiece at the breakfast table or for special events such as parties and weddings.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Handmade in the UK in heavy food-grade stainless steel, each stand is a unique piece of functional sculpture inspired by the iconic Shard building, which overlooks Bermondsey Street Bees’ London rooftop hives.

Measuring 30cm high x 15cm deep x 37cm wide, the stand holds the British Standard National super honeycomb frames: 12 inches (30.5 cm) in length and 5 ½ inches (14 cm) deep, with long lugs (the supporting wood projections at the top end of the frame) which are 7/8 of an inch (2.1cm) wide to fit into the supporting slots.

The fully removable ‘V’ shaped tray catches drips from the comb (5cm wide).
