Hobros are a producer and distributor of hand-crafted, sauces and oils – all free from chemicals, preservatives and additives. Started by two brothers with a huge passion for food and creating exquisitely tasting products, Hobros is dedicated to sourcing wonderful natural flavours that enhance both the eating and cooking aspects of food.
Paying very close attention to detail at every stage of the production process, Hobros’ desire is to push the boundaries of taste and texture sensations. They love sourcing (and eating!) high quality, authentic ingredients from around the world, and putting them together with the fundamental ethos that absolutely no preservatives, chemicals, flavourings, nor additives are used in the constituent or products.

The signature Deluxe Chilli Sauces present punchy, savoury flavours, modernising recipes inspired by the Ho brothers’ Hong Kong Chinese heritage whilst keeping it 100% natural and handmade. The growing range of products are created and packaged by hand, with every ingredient sourced with the utmost care.
Since each of these products are unique and the processes used to create them are so precise, production cannot be scaled in a linear fashion. To scale up from prototypes, Hobros got a bigger pan to cook more ingredients, but only up to about three times the original amounts – any larger and the precision required for each stage would be impossible to maintain.
Hobros choose not to automate the process for reasons of texture. If the ingredients are not prepared in the precise way they are now, you might get the same fabulous flavour of sauce when blended, but the texture becomes more like a ketchup. Moreover, in this form it is more likely to need a stabiliser to keep the oil and water together – and anything chemical would be out of the question.
Deluxe Chilli Sauce with Scallops
This sauce has very strong natural and umami-rich flavours, and takes inspiration from the XO sauces developed in Hong Kong in the last half of the 20th century for Cantonese cuisine. Although those sauces are named after the popular cognac XO, there is no liquor in the recipe.
Deluxe Vegan Chilli Sauce
An exceptional intensely-flavoured, complex and savoury chilli sauce – 100% natural and handmade, using four different types of mushrooms (porcini, shiitake, boletus and chestnut) alongside fennel, tomato, onion, garlic, chillies and other herbs and spices to create a medium-hot chilli sauce with a hint of the Orient in its flavour profile.
Natural Black Truffle Oil
Using an award-winning Spanish extra virgin olive oil as the base, the truffle infusion packs enormous, distinctive flavour from a combination of real black summer truffles and a natural black truffle aroma derived from plants. A hint of rosemary and nutmeg adds extra depth of flavour to the wonderfully heady aroma of the finished oil.
Brothers Tony and Tim started the business back in 2018, drawing on their professional backgrounds in the food industry and passion for delicious foods to start making some truly unique products. Tony runs a successful high end catering company, and whose work has allowed him to explore some of the finest food products from around the world. Both brothers have undergone professional chef training, and each and every ingredient has been personally tasted before being used in their sauces and oils.
Truly a family business, the inspiration for their signature XO sauce came from a conversation around the dinner table with their mother, in her native Hong Kong. They were enjoying some sauces gifted from a friend of their mother, taking immense pleasure from the textures and flavours of the homemade versions. But even these contained additives and preservatives, going against their food philosophy. So they decided to make their own.
Now each and every one of their delicious, hand crafted products is absolutely free from chemicals at every stage of the process, whilst enhancing the natural flavours and textures of the ingredients.
